It's about freaking time wouldn't you say? This guy is an unbelievable poet and had tons of hits from "Catch The Wind" to "Atlantis" to "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and was on the forefront of the entire psychedelic movement. My lady and myself had the opportunity to spend a weekend with him at a Myth & Music workshop he did at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY back in April 1998. He is a very spiritual man. His song "Try For The Sun" kept me sane as a kid. It was a mantra that served as an anchor to Sanity for me to not give in to the crazy-making, cult-ural consensus trance of falsely believing I had to "follow the herd off the end of the cliff". Leaders are always a minority because they are visionaries who are always ahead of their time. Donovan was/is most certainly one of these. I guess that's why it took this long to get him elected into the Rock & Roll hall of fame. As far as I'm concerned, his poetry alone is phenomenal, but when blended his extremely sensitive, creative and very versatile musical stlyeS (plural), he is one extraordinary (yet simple) man.
