Donovan and Dylan in the Shadows

Bob Dylan has a new album, Shadows in the Night, being released February 3. I could not help but notice how similar the cover of Dylan’s album was to Donovan’s album Shadows of Blue, which was released in 2013. I had the pleasure of attending the recording sessions in Nashville for Donovan’s album. It was also a pleasure for Govinda Gallery to host one of the first exhibitions for photographer William Claxton, who’s photograph is on the cover of Dylan’s new album. That exhibition was called “Jazz Seen” and was presented at Govinda in 1999. Donovan and Dylan have long been closely associated starting with their mutual devotion to Woody Guthrie.

Donovan is headlining the Temple Bar TradFest in Dublin with a concert this Saturday, January 31 at Dublin Castle.

Bob Dylan is being honored on Friday, February 6 as the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year in a star-studded concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
