Donovan, Woody Guthrie, and Alexander Hamilton

by Chris Murray on September 13, 2012

Donovan will be visiting Washington D.C. and performing here for the first time since his induction last April into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On October 6th he will be appearing at The Hamilton Live , the stunning new music venue in downtown Washington. This will be a great chance to see Donovan in concert. The Hamilton is named after Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury, which is located just across the street from the Hamilton. On October 14th Donovan will also be performing at the Kennedy Center as part of the Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration.

“There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty, that makes human nature rise above itself…”
– Alexander Hamilton, 1775

“Freedom is a word I rarely use without thinking of the time when I’ve been loved…”
– Donovan, 1965
