It has been one of the highlights of my work at Govinda Gallery to have organized four exhibitions in Havana, Cuba, as well as three exhibitions of Cuban photographers at Govinda Gallery. Every one of the exhibitions featured extraordinary work by extraordinary artists. I was inspired by the overwhelming response that these exhibitions received. The Cuban people are among the most wonderful people in the world. Cuba itself is a land of breathtaking beauty and possesses a culture that is rich, vibrant, and dynamic. The dialogue regarding art of all kinds in Cuba, music, poetry, dance, painting, theater, photography, and more, is at the highest level.

I am so glad for the initiative taken yesterday by the presidents of both the United States and Cuba. As a dear friend of mine wrote me today from Havana, “We are always, since the Big Bang, we are brothers because God or the science made our rocks under the sea just to be the same rocks, so we are together for ever.”

Here are the exhibitions that Govinda Gallery organized in Cuba as well as the exhibitions of Cuban artists at Govinda Gallery, with the invitation visual from each show. We are currently organizing the exhibition Bob Dylan: NYC 1961-1964 to be shown in Havana next winter at Fototeca de Cuba featuring Ted Russell’s photographs. I wish to express my gratitude to Nelson and Liudmila, Lourdes Socarrás Ferrer, Mario Diaz, Pupo, Guille Vilar, Abel Prieto, and all my friends at Fototeca de Cuba in Havana.
